Professional Bio

Veronica L. Schauder is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Parent Education Trainer. She has over 25 years experience working with children, families and individuals as an agent of support and guidance. Her professional life includes a commitment to serving the needs of children and families as a School Social Worker.

She has studied many modalities to bring healing to those in need. She is a lifelong learner inspired by the abundance of opportunities available to broaden and enrich the lives of her students.  Ms. Schauder was recently chosen to attend the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, RULER training program. She is part of a school-based team that presents workshops on Emotional Intelligence and Cultural Responsiveness to staff and the school community. This team was invited to present on educational equity at NYU Steinhardt, TAC-D Summer Institute 2017.

She has additional expertise in areas of Loss and Trauma, Social Emotional Learning Initiatives, Family Systems, Positive Parenting, Crisis Intervention, Mindfulness, Reiki, Yoga and BreathWork, Response To Intervention, Restorative Justice, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and Learning Skills. She is especially sensitive to the needs of children who find the classroom and school environment an unsettling forest of sounds, energy and demands.

Her favorite talent is showing how a difference in ability is merely unrecognized strength in disguise.

She was invited as a guest speaker on Talk Zone Radio with Dr. Jonathan T. Jefferson.  Topics included ADHD and The Income Achievement Gap. She also served as a trustee on the board of The Gift of Writing Foundation, aimed to improve educational opportunities for children in Haiti and Haitian Americans. Volunteer efforts extend from teaching English to school children overseas, providing comfort to orphans in Guatemala, to hammering nails in a roof for a local Habitat for Humanity home.

Ms. Schauder has just finished a manuscript for a children's story book on loss and resiliency. It is a tale of a brave boy who is a messy, curious, resilient rocketeer. His first trip to a family lake house is like a dragonfly flight pattern, action packed with heartfelt hovering moments and unexpected sharp turns. Like an expert flier, he pilots his way through loss, life and love.

In addition to a holistic, clinical expertise, she has a background in art, business and communication. As a trained SoulCollage® facilitator, she teaches people how to ignite their innate creative abilities to reveal their own intuitive wisdom. Her workshops bring people together to create a community of connection. She was invited to present SoulCollage® at the NYC Expressive Therapies Summit, 2018 and 2019.

Veronica started her career as a Forensic Social Worker. She represented children in the NYC Family Court System for the Juvenile Rights Division of Legal Aid Society.  She advocated and represented the myriad of needs of children and adolescents bought to Family Court on abuse, neglect, custody and delinquency petitions. This is where she cultivated her passion for advocacy and social justice.
